
This year's event will be held on Saturday, 14 April 2012 at WINSFORD LIFESTYLE CENTRE, THE DRUMBER, WINSFORD, CW7 1AD (Opposite ASDA)
Cheshire Archaeology Day is back again at its new venue – the Winsford Lifestyle Centre. The event is supported by the Cheshire Local History Association, the Chester Archaeological Society and Middlewich Town Council.
Presentations at the event include Dr Peter Carrington who will speak about the extramural Roman settlement at Chester and Dr Hannah Cobb on 'Swords and Seascapes and the setting sun' - concerning the Vikings in Ardnamurchan, Western Scotland. There will also be talks on more local themes on Cheshire's historic designed landscapes, Bewsey Old Hall, crosses and mounds. There will also be the chance to handle and find out about Roman, Medieval and later finds from our collection and see displays from local societies.
