Something about our keynote speaker:
RUTH GOODMAN, historian and historical re-enactor, has become well-known since 2005 for three series she has co-presented, all broadcast on BBC TV:  Tales from the Green Valley (2005); The Victorian Farm (2009); and Victorian Farm Christmas (2009).  Edwardian Farm is due for transmission in 2010.  She used to live in Chester and played an active part in the city’s ‘Divided Loyalties’ Civil War festival (1995).  Apart from her television work, Ruth leads a busy life presenting lectures on a wide range of historical themes, and organising courses on aspects of everyday life in the past.
