Cheshire History Day

The event held on Saturday, 31 October 2009 at NORTHWICH MEMORIAL HALL on the theme of 'Cheshire's Working Rivers' was a great success with over 300 people attending the day.

The programme which the audience appreciated consisted of:

10:00      'Widely as the mersey Flows' with Hugh Beggs

11:30      'The Dee and the Port of Chester' with Dr Jane Laughton

02:00      'Cotton Mills of the Bollin and Dane Rivers' with Dr Mike Nevell

03:15      'The River Weaver and its links with the Salt Industry' with Colin Edmondson.

04:30      Programme ends.

Thanks are due to all the speakers, those who provided the many displays and of course all those who attended for making this such an enjoyable day.

The Executive Committee are currently working on next year's programme. A publicity leaflet with application form will be made available next year and will be sent to all members of the Association nearer the time.

You will then be able to download an application form by clicking this link: Application Form.
