About Membership

Personal Membership

Personal membership is available for an individual or couple living at the same address at a subscription of £10.00. It entitles the member to a complimentary copy of Cheshire History, to attend the quarterly meetings and ensures that they are well informed on Cheshire local history matters by being on the Association’s mailing list. It is hoped that in time further benefits of membership will be introduced. Use the application form to apply for individual membership.

Corporate membership

Societies are invited to join the Association by completing the application form. The annual subscription of £20 brings many benefits: -

  • A complimentary copy of the highly respected Cheshire History annual publication.
  • The facility for your society to make its opinions heard at an influential level.
  • Access to lists of speakers on historical subjects.
  • Advance notice of the annual Local History Day when authoritative speakers talk on matters of local interest.
  • The receipt of invitations to local society open days.
  • The opportunity to organise your own fund-raising open day with the Association’s support.
  • Access to advice on how to run a successful History Society.
  • Access to expert advice on the running of projects such as document or memorial transcription.
  • Guidance on how to publish local history books.
  • Loans to finance book publication.
  • Your own free web pages as part of this site.

New members should note that their membership subscription entitles them to a free copy of the edition of Cheshire History published at the end of the membership year. New subscribers might like to pay £13.25 which entitles them to the current version of Cheshire History, a year's individual membership of the Local History Association and a copy of the next Cheshire History when it is published at the end of the year.

Please return your completed form and subscription to the Membership Secretary care of the Record Office at the above address. The Cheshire Local History Association Committee looks forward to welcoming you as an individual member or as your society’s representative to the next meeting of the Association.
